At West, our goal is to help you find your ministry area where you can serve God and grow in your faith and make a difference for God’s kingdom.
At West we value the Great Commission to make disciples by going, baptizing and teaching. The heart of who we are and what we do is missions. The Acts 1:8 team is comprised of Local, National and International teams, whose collective purpose is to plan, promote, encourage and engage members in missions in our local community, state, nation, and around the world.
Block Teams—Block captains serve as outreach coordinators to our local community. Each block captain has a city block they are responsible to pray for, engage with and share the Gospel with.
Baptist on Mission—Disaster relief training and serving
Women’s Missionary Union (WMU)—Planning and promoting various mission projects locally, nationally and internationally.
Operation Christmas Child—The world’s largest Christmas project using gift-filled shoeboxes to demonstrate God’s love to children.
At West we value students and their families. The purpose of the student ministry is to: Lead students into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; to prepare students to take ownership of their faith; to partner with families to develop a Christ-honoring name.
At West, we value teaching kids at even a young they can worship and serve the Lord. WestKids exists to teach children to KNOW our Lord and Savior, GROW in spiritual development, and GO serve the Lord. (Team Leader: Abby Dillingham)
Awana is discipleship program where children learn scripture, Bible stories, and have a time of recreation.
Children’s Worship is for children in grades Kindergarten-2nd grade during both worship services. Children have an age appropriate Bible lesson with engaging activities and music. Children’s Worship leaders are responsible for planning and preparing a lesson once a month.
Nursery is a safe place for children birth-2 years old. Caregivers are there to make sure your child’s needs are met while you are in worship. Nursery Volunteers are scheduled once a quarter for one worship service.
Pre-K Children’s Worship is for children ages 3-Pre-K during Worship services. They have an interactive, age appropriate Bible Lesson with engaging music and fun activities.
WestVBS is one of our largest outreach events. WestVBS is for children 3 years old-5th grade. Children have a fun-filled night which includes Bible study, music, crafts, recreation, and mission projects.
Summer Explosion is a fun summer experience for kids in Kindergarten-5th grade. We meet on Tuesdays during the summer for day trips.
Mega Sports Camp is a ministry in which Biblical principles are paired with training in select sports.
WestFest is our annual community fall festival that brings the community to our campus through games, trunk-or-treat, and entertainment.
All Things Possible Ministry is a partnership with Central Elementary to mentor and tutor students to achieve academic success.
Upward Sports is a ministry where we promote the discovery of Jesus through basketball and cheerleading.
At West we value the hurting. The purpose of the Care Team is to minister to members and their families in times of need. This team is comprised of our Meals Team, GriefShare Team, and Prayer Team.
Meals Team members provide food for families who are grieving the passing of a loved one.
GriefShare members provide care and walk alongside those who are going through the grieving process.
Prayer Team members intercede for the hurting through concerted prayer for those in need.
At West we value everyone that comes on our campus. The First Impact team is comprised of Greeters, Ushers and Security Team members. Our purpose is to help every person have an enjoyable and safe worship experience from the moment of arrival in the parking lot to their departure home.
Greeters meet each person as they arrive at the door with a smile, handshake and a bulletin. They are available to answer questions, and help guests find classrooms/nursery, etc.
Ushers assist people as they are seated for the church service, take up the offering, and help with needs as they arise.
Security Team provides a safe worship environment by maintaining awareness throughout the building and parking areas.
At West we value community. LifeGroups are the primary vehicle for discipleship at West. The purpose of LifeGroups are to gather in small groups with friends to share life together, experience the gospel, learn the truths of the Bible, love one another, and serve our city and participate in the mission of God.
At West we value fellowship. The purpose of the Hospitality Team is to plan, prepare and serve at special gatherings of the church such as church-wide fellowships, dinners and at Homecoming.
At West we value attractive spaces for worship. The purpose of the Décor team is to coordinate and decorate the church buildings for seasonal and special occasions.
At West, we value being together. The purpose of the Transportation ministry is to provide transport for people who do not have a way to church.
At West we value equipping men. The purpose of West Men’s Ministry is help men impact their homes, jobs, and world for Jesus Christ through support, encouragement, fellowship and teaching.
At West we value worshipping God through music. The purpose of the Music Ministry is to lead the congregation in the worship of God. The Music Ministry team consists of the Adult Choir, Praise Team and Praise Band.
At West, we value the people who can’t always be at church. The purpose of the Homebound Ministry Team is to provide love and care to members who are at home or in nursing facilities. Team members make monthly visits to encourage, pray with, offer support, and carry church materials to our senior saints.
At West we value those who are a little further down the path of life. Our pathways ministry is comprised of retired adults who enjoy gathering for bible study, fellowship and outings. The purpose of Pathways is to provide support, encouragement and opportunities for ministry in the church and community.
At West we value encouraging women. The purpose of Sweet Sisters is to provide an opportunity for ladies to gather monthly for fellowship and fun.
At West we value making disciples through Bible study. While the main arm of discipleship is our Sunday morning LifeGroups, we also offer midweek Bible studies on various topics as well as various men and women’s groups that meet at various times through the week.
At West, we value technology in the ministry setting. The purpose of the Tech Team is to leverage technology on our campus and online to enhance the impact of our church.
Production Team members run sound, video and lighting at our services.
Social Media Team captures moments at special events and services to post on our online platforms.
IT Team helps in LifeGroup classrooms with projectors, televisions and computers.
